Connecticut Children’s nephrology physicians are actively involved in clinical and translational research and present several abstracts at international and national meetings annually. Our research findings regularly appear in publications such as the prestigious Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
In addition, our Division participates in several clinical trials and government funded studies. One such study, the CureGN trial, is NIH funded with an expected enrollment 2,400 participants. The goal of the study is to learn about the causes of disease, response to therapy, and disease progression, with the ultimate objective to cure glomerulonephropathy. Nephrology Division members have also participated in prominent research consortiums including Pediatric Nephrology Research Consortium (PNRC), The Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA), Standardizing Care to Improve Outcomes for Pediatric ESRD (SCOPE) and Children’s Hospitals’ Solution for Patients Safety (SPS). Our members sit on various nationwide committees as co-chairs and have co-authored a chapter in the seminal Pediatric Nephrology textbook in addition to peer-reviewed articles.
