The Intestinal Rehabilitation Program is a multidisciplinary team involved in the care of pediatric patients with intestinal failure. Our team includes pediatric surgeons, gastroenterologists, neonatologists, dietitians, and nurses. The Program follows children with a history of intestinal failure from a variety of causes including necrotizing enterocolitis, intestinal atresia, mid-gut volvulus, and gastroschisis.
Through coordinated rounds and educational lectures, we aim to provide seamless care from diagnosis through hospitalization and eventually to the home. We are also actively involved in clinical trials examining new treatments for patients with intestinal failure, and have published on novel medical and dietary therapies for these patients.
