The Office for Sponsored Programs (OSP) supports the research community at Connecticut Children’s by facilitating the preparation, submission, and management of external funding. Our services include pre-award, post-award, contract management, and clinical trials finance. We are dedicated to providing outstanding customer service in an environment that embraces teamwork, integrity, and compliance.
The OSP strives to help Connecticut Children’s Research Institute become a top-tier institution by leveraging technology to provide best in class research administration. Through partnership between researchers and OSP, scientists pursue discoveries that improves healthcare outcomes for children and their families in Connecticut and the nation.
Mission and Vision:
- Provides information on funding opportunities for federal, state, industry, and not-for-profit sponsors
- Provides guidance and assistance with proposal preparation that includes: budget preparation, institutional review, and submission
- Serves as the primary liaison with federal, state, industry, and not-for-profit sponsors, and facilitates collaboration with peer institutions
- Negotiates terms and conditions of awards with sponsors
- Reviews and approves applications for external funding
- Issues contracts and monitors sub-awards to collaborating institutions
- Provides information, guidance, and training to faculty, staff, and researchers regarding sponsor guidelines, regulations, and expectations
- Performs internal audits for regulatory and financial compliance
- Prepares final invoices, financial expense reports, and final close out of the grant
- Management of Clinical Trials finance and compliance processes
- Negotiates pharmaceutical contracts and budgets
