Grand Rounds and Other CME Offerings
Tuesdays from 8-9 am during the academic year (September-June)
Watch on Zoom, and if prompted, enter the passcode 186688. Post-tests are available on the EEDS Continuing Education Portal.
Grand Rounds target audience includes pediatricians, family practitioners, psychiatrists, pediatric advanced-nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, and school nurses. Attendees develop new skill sets based on recent pediatric advances in a wide variety of specialties, identify evidence-based data to support improved outcomes in pediatric healthcare delivery, as well as increase knowledge about research with implications for clinical practice.

About the Office of CME
The purpose of continuing medical education (CME) is to raise the level of care by providing high quality, continuing medical education for all pediatric health care providers in the region (including pediatric physicians, surgeons, family physicians, pediatric physician assistants, pediatric APRNs, and nurses). CME activities should implement & execute practical, evidence based, quality continuing medical education while adhering to the following:
- Assess the needs of our health care providers to develop educational programs that improve their professional satisfaction and competence.
- Provide practical, up-to-date continuing medical education activities utilizing a variety of educational formats, including contemporary technologies and Enduring Activities.
- Reflect the importance of evidence-based medicine in the educational content.
- Establish effective methods to assess the impact of educational content on practitioner behavior, delivery of care, and on patient outcomes.
- Meet or exceed both legal and continuing education standards established by the Joint Commission, the State of Connecticut, Connecticut State Medical Society, and the Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education.
Connecticut Children’s is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Connecticut Children’s Office of Continuing Medical Education designates activities with the AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only credits commensurate with the extent of their participation in the various activities.
All faculty participating in Continuing Medical Education activities sponsored by Connecticut Children’s are required to disclose to the program audience any actual or perceived conflict of interest related to the content of their presentation. Program planners have an obligation to resolve any actual conflicts of interest and share with the audience any safeguards put in place to prevent commercial bias from influencing the content.
