How the Lab Can Help
In responding to COVID-19, you likely face the daunting challenge of figuring out how to redeploy resources, preserve financial and programmatic integrity, work with smaller teams due to layoffs and furloughs, and provide added support to team members through this crisis. The Lab is well positioned to help you make the changes necessary to your business and programmatic strategies to ensure you are able to support children and families through the hardships they now face. Here is what we offer:
- Ideate and pivot current strategies, programs, and initiatives to align with social distancing and quarantining guidelines.
- Develop and deploy strategies to identify and understand the evolving and emerging needs of children and families you serve.
- Ideate, design, and implement new strategies to meet evolving and emerging needs of children and families.
- Explore how to best leverage and/or redistribute existing resources.
- Strategize how to increase the scope and impact of strategies developed in response to COVID-19.
- Explore potential partnerships and opportunities for collaboration with organizations.
- Develop and execute evaluation strategies to monitor and assess the impact of pivoted and newly developed strategies.
Background on the Lab
While the Lab’s strategies are evolving during this challenging time in responding to COVID-19, our commitment remains the same – to help all children prosper. As part of Connecticut Children’s Office for Community Child Health, the Lab is dedicated to supporting the development of innovative strategies that promote the health, development, and well-being of all children and nurturing changemakers as they reimagine how to help all children prosper.
We have worked over the past few weeks with colleagues in Connecticut Children’s Office for Community Child Health to do the following:
- Identify and elevate innovative strategies developed in response to the pandemic.
- Understand how the needs of children and families have evolved in response to COVID-19.
- Initiate efforts to understand the short-, moderate-, and long-term impacts of the pandemic on the economic, social, behavioral, and environmental drivers of health, development, and well-being.
- Strategize how to meet the basic needs of children and families while enhancing family level protective factors and supporting children’s developmental and academic trajectories.
