Connecticut Children’s and Hartford HealthCare have a history of collaboration, including care for high-risk pregnancies, newborns, chronic illnesses and adult congenital heart disease.

Our Care Alliance takes this commitment even further: We partner to provide patients and their families with comprehensive care that’s close to home.

The Best of Both Worlds

From birth and through adulthood, we want every member of your family to get the care they need, even as those needs change and evolve over time.

By combining Connecticut Children’s and Hartford HealthCare’s expertise and reach throughout nearly 400 locations, we’re making care more accessible to everyone.

This includes health, social, and emotional support programs across both health systems.

Expert Newborn Care Closer to Home

Connecticut Children’s flagship Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Hartford Hospital is already the leader for newborn care and research throughout the region. Our Care Alliance brings Connecticut Children’s specialists to more Hartford HealthCare NICUs and newborn nurseries, including Backus Hospital, MidState Medical Center, St. Vincent’s Medical Center, and The Hospital of Central Connecticut. This allows patients and families to get high-quality neonatology care that’s close to home.

Advanced Care for High-Risk Pregnancies

Some mothers and babies need advanced care in utero and soon after delivery. Through our Pediatric Care Alliance with Hartford HealthCare, you’ll have access to maternal-fetal medicine specialists and obstetricians at the Fetal Care Center at Connecticut Children’s — the only center of its kind in New England.

Making Sure Your Care Is in the Right Hands

No matter where your family’s health journey leads, we’re your partners on it.

Connecticut Children’s and Hartford HealthCare will continue to listen and respond to your needs, connecting your family with the right care, wherever that may be across our health systems.

Whether it’s a newborn who needs to spend time in the NICU; a child who needs a pediatric specialist; or an older teen who is transitioning to adult care, our teams will work together for a safe, well-planned transition of care.
